Kimberlee + Daniel’s Capriole Estate Wedding
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding it doesn’t get much more romantic than the magnificent Capriole Estate, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, just 20 minutes from the beautiful Noosa Heads.
Daniel and Kimberlee tied the knot at this incredible property nestled between the ocean and the mountains, making their lifelong commitment to each other with the stunning Mt Eerwah as the backdrop. The most important thing for these two lovebirds was to create an atmosphere where their family and friends could have fun, let their hair down and enjoy the celebrations! And that’s exactly how the day unfolded!
How did you meet?
We both worked for the same company, Daniel was based on-site in Tweed Heads and I was in Sydney. One night during our shift I was following Daniel to a meeting and I fell down a step. Daniel loves to tell the story, I fell for him, literally!
Tell us about the proposal?
Oh that! There wasn’t one! When we met I told Daniel what I wanted in my three year plan, to buy a house, to be married and to have a baby. He seemed to agree!
Daniel picked the order, he decided we needed a house first so when I came home with a dog, we needed to buy a house! On the first day that we moved into our house, over a fish and chip supper I said, ‘so when are we going to get married?’, he just blurted, 12 months from now! And that was it!
What was the biggest challenge you faced planning your wedding?
Finding the time to put our ideas onto paper together. We had a very similar view and understanding of what we wanted to achieve for our wedding and making that a reality was really challenging at times, especially when we had a very tight budget to stick to.
How did you choose your style/theme for your wedding day?
We wanted a very relaxed wedding; we both wanted something that our guests would feel comfortable attending. I really feel that the style reflected us, we have lots of our wedding decorations around our home now and it is great to look around and reflect on the memories we made together!
What made your day run smoothly?
Our coordinator Lisa! You were a super star!
Is there anything you would do differently?
Make sure the venue was ready for us. When we turned up to the venue there were cows and horses where I was walking down the aisle! Although, in the end our guests were clueless of all of the running around we did.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
Playing jenga – although the hubby won, it was definitely something that I have not lived down to this day!
We made sure we hung out with each other, there wasn’t too many moments that we weren’t together and I really love those memories from our wedding day. We made it about us! I have spoken to lots of friends that have got married and every one of them told me to make time for hubby or wife on the day!
Do you have any advice for future brides?
Just be happy! And breath!
